Another
favorite High Achievement product is Smart Dog and his automated
helpers. The Smart Dog Automated Educational Tools may look like cute
teddy bears, dogs, cats, and
other fun stuffed animals, but they are actually high-tech educational helpers.
A child can
simply show a book to one of the cute stuffed animals and the system automatically
reads the book to the child. The system can recognize almost any object in a classroom
(colors, shapes, flash cards, teaching coins, etc.) and teach the exact lesson specified.
You can create your own lessons, or use the standard prepackaged content.
Elementary school students as young as kindergarten are having fun and learning as they
play with Smart Dog and his Reading Friends.
Each
system is custom designed and contains all of the electronics need to
recognize the object and automatically speak the lesson. The two most
critical factors needed for a product to be successful in a
classroom are ease of use and reliability. The system instantly powers
up and Smart Dog is ready to help the students achieve.
Smart Dog has a 100% accuracy level for
identifying classroom objects. We have intentionally designed the
sensors to only recognize objects right in front of Smart Dog's eyes.
Smart Dog only looks at what is a few inches in front of him so he will
not be distracted by the wrong book or other instructional item.
The system is extremely easy to use. When Smart Dog powers up he
says, "Hi, my name is Smart Dog. I love to learn. I can also help you with
reading, writing, math, colors, shapes, words, numbers, time, and
coins. I forgot my glasses, so bring the book or card close to my eyes
and I will read the book to you or teach you about your item".
Smart Dog is multifunctional and is designed for individual to full classroom instruction. The most frequent task for Smart Dog is small group instructional activities.
The automated instructional tools are also highly effective for IEP students who may need extra help in specific areas.
Smart Dog and his friends are welcome additional to any classroom. Most
teachers have found that once the automated helpers arrive at school,
every student wants to play with Smart Dog and his friends.
We
can usually create a system to meet the requirements of your classroom,
school, or library. Most teachers have requested small to medium sized
stuffed animals to meet the space restrictions of their classrooms.
After school programs and libraries frequently request larger stuffed
animals if they have the space available.
A wireless option is also available to allow the students to listen to the educational content through wireless headphones for environments that require silence or very low noise levels.
Pricing is based on components and features. Most schools have used grant funding or have been funded by various federal, state, and local programs. Pricing is typically within the funding limits for
most school grant programs. Also, the automated systems are designed to
help multiple groups of students which results in a cost per SIM
(student instructional minute) less than any comparable program.
